What we collect, and what happens to it

This describes what this website actually does, rather than everything a privacy policy could imagine doing. If something is not listed here, the site does not do it.

Who this is

This site is operated by Inside Job, ABN To do —ABN. Questions about anything below can go to info@insidejob.info or the phone number on the contact page.

What the forms collect

The quote form asks for your name, phone number, an email address if you choose to give one, the suburb the vehicle is in, the make, model and year of the vehicle, a description of what it needs, when anything was spilt, your preferred time window, and up to 4 photographs.

The trade enquiry form asks for your business name, a contact name, phone number, email address, site location, vehicle types, an estimate of units per week, how you would rather be contacted, and any notes you add.

All of it is used for one thing: to quote the work and contact you about it. None of it is sold, shared for marketing, or used to build a profile of you.

Photographs

Photographs you attach are resized in your own browser before they are uploaded, then sent to us by email as attachments. They are not published anywhere and they are not posted on this site. If we ever want to use a photograph of your vehicle as a before-and-after example, we will ask you first, and the answer being no changes nothing about the job.

Where it goes

  • Email delivery. Form submissions are sent to us as email through Resend, a transactional email provider. They pass through Resend's systems in order to be delivered.
  • Hosting. The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes the ordinary connection information any web server sees.
  • Booking. The booking page embeds a Cal.com calendar. That embed loads only on the booking page and only once you open it, and anything you enter into the calendar goes to Cal.com under their terms. Every other page loads no third-party scripts at all.
  • No database. This site stores nothing. There is no customer database behind it — submissions become an email and live in our inbox from that point on.

IP addresses, cookies and analytics

Your IP address is used, in memory and briefly, to limit how many times a form can be submitted from one connection. It is not written to disk, not stored alongside your enquiry, and disappears when the server restarts.

This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising. Where analytics is enabled it is Plausible, which is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites or build a profile of you. If analytics is not configured, no analytics script loads at all.

How long it is kept, and getting it removed

Enquiries stay in our email as long as they are useful for quoting, doing and invoicing the work, and for the period our tax and insurance obligations require.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. Email or ring, and say what you want done. We will not ask you why.

TODO: retention period

Put a specific period here — “seven years, in line with our tax obligations” or whatever is right for how you operate. “As long as it is useful” is the vaguest acceptable answer and a real one is better.

Changes

If this changes, the page changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, because we do not keep one.

TODO: have this reviewed before launch

This page was written to describe what the code on this site actually does, and it is accurate on that. It is not legal advice, and nobody qualified has read it. Have it looked over against your obligations — including whether the Privacy Act 1988 applies to your business — before the site goes live, and add a last-updated date at that point.
