What a recon unit covers
A consistent standard across the yard
The same interior standard on every unit, so your listing photographs look like they came from one operation rather than five different casuals.
Interior to listing condition
Vacuum, hard surfaces and vents cleaned out, shampoo and extraction on carpet and fabric, glass and door shuts. The interior a buyer opens the door on.
Condition bands, priced accordingly
A one-owner lease return and a farm ute are not the same unit of work, so units are banded rather than averaged. You know which band a vehicle is in before it is done.
Problem trade-ins quoted separately
Smoke, pet and water-damaged trade-ins are quoted per unit as an escalation, with the cost given before the work starts, so it never lands as a surprise on the monthly invoice.
The method
Stages used on a typical unit
Standard recon sits in the first three stages. Escalation to the air path or to carpet out is quoted per vehicle before it is done.
- 1
Find and remove the source
Under seats and seat rails, under carpet, the boot well, the cabin filter, the HVAC evaporator.
- 2
Carpet shampoo
Shampoo worked through the carpet, the mats and the fabric seats, so what is bound into the pile lets go before it is pulled back out.
- 3
Hot-water extraction
Hot water driven through the pile and vacuumed straight back out, so the dirt leaves the vehicle in the water rather than drying back into it.
Rates
Trade pricing is per unit and negotiated on volume, so it is not published on this site. Tell us your typical weekly numbers and the mix of stock and you will get a rate card.
Escalated vehicles — smoke, pet, water — are quoted individually against the same stage-by-stage structure the retail work uses.
TODO: scope question for the owner
Questions we get asked
What happens when a trade-in has a smoke or pet problem?
It comes out of the standard per-unit rate and is quoted on its own, before the work starts. You get a number and decide whether the unit is worth reconditioning to that level.
Do you work on site?
Yes. Standard recon is done at your yard. Vehicles that need ozone or the carpet lifted come to the workshop, because those stages need controlled conditions.
How does invoicing work?
Monthly, on 14-day terms, itemised by vehicle so it reconciles against your stock.
Can we hold a standing slot?
That is the arrangement that works best for both sides — a fixed day each week with an agreed number of units.
